Races

There are a number of races in the Era universe, and they are categorized as Ancient, Elemental, Fiendish, Mortal or Spiritual.

Many of the races were created as part of an ongoing competition between the 7 titans of creation to see who could create the more interesting and advanced civilization. To make the starting playing field even the 7 worked together to create the Fae, Primals, Gods and Devils. They then used these races to create a world that would be used to play a cosmic game of war. While most sentient species are exclusive to each planet there are plenty of non-intelligent species that were shared amongst the titans after a wargame during the next build phases. Most of these were basic fauna, flora, minor elementals and other essential creatures needed for complex life and civilization.

The only races native to Era are the Dragons, Elves, Humans, Dwarves, Goblins and Fairies, many of the other races come from surrounding planets that were ravaged by the Cosmic Cataclysm.

Ancients

The Ancients predate modern Mortal civilization and include the Dragons, Fae, Primals, Angels and Devils. While there may have been more ancient races, they seem to have been lost to time. Unlike modern races, ancient races were brought into existence with many sub-species however slightly different for each one. To be categorized as an ancient race it must be considered immortal and were alive during the Age of Titans or are considered one of the proto races that all current known beings descend from.

While ancients were created with all 7 titans together, they were not limited to the base physical and mental features, thus allowing them to modify and create sub-species for specific functionality.

Generation 1

The first set of races created were the Fae and Primals. These were the only race categories the titans had access to during the first War Game and continued to be the majority of races in later War Games.

Fae

The fae were the first ancient race to be created and is the progenitor to all other Arcana Domain races. They were created to bring order, knowledge and power to the worlds. They were created with 2 sub-species: one for the humanoid path and the other for the creature path.

Fae descendants include almost all non-elemental physical beings with most descendants lacking sentience and intelligence.

Notable Fae descendants are Dragons and its descendants, Humans, Elves, Fairies, Beast-folk and most living creatures on Era.

Primals

The Primals were the second ancient race to be created and is the progenitor to all other Elemental Domain races. The purpose of this race was to introduce and regulate elemental mana which would then create the natural elements of the world such as Volcanoes, Ocean Currents, Storms, Earthquakes, etc.

Primals and its descendants start of a non-sentient manifestation of raw mana however, as they acquire more of their aligned mana they can slowly evolve into a complex being, with most sentient elementals being Earth or Water due to having a physical trait.

Notable Primal descendant's native to Era are Dwarves (Earth), Mermaids (Water), Avians (Wind) and Salamanders (Fire). Non-natives are Orcs (Earth) and Pigins (Wind).

Generation 2

Angels

Angels were created after the first war game took place to help maintain life and nature on the worlds by policing the effects the Fae and Primals have on each other. Usually, they appear whenever there is a major disaster to repair any damage that may have been done to the integrity of the planet.

While they aren't sentient, they are extremely intelligent and have incredible fighting capabilities. Angels have no direct descendants, but it does have sub-species related to it those being Wisps, Sprites, Dryads and Satyrs.

Devils

Devils were created alongside Angels as a counterbalance and to introduce chaos and uncertainty to the worlds. Unlike

Dragons

The dragons are a sentient race and the only ancient race that is not a progenitor race but actually a descendant of the Fae. They are categorized as Ancient due to the age of their race not being a progenitor, they were the first race created by the titan of Era for Era.

There are many Dragon sub-species and descendants and while dragons themselves are sentient not all of their descendants are.

Notable sentient races being the Drakes and Goblins, and notable non-sentient or low intelligence races are Hydra, Wyrms and Wyvern.
